We have had an amazing few weeks since opening. Thank you to everyone who has already stopped by the kiosk for food, coffee and cake. We have been overwhelmed by the amount of community support from local groups and families using the park or residents close by. We would never have imagined that you would have been so supportive.
Thank you also to everyone taking the time to provide us with feedback, it's helping us improve and adjust our menu and offering as we go. We were a little slow off the mark with our kid's offering, we had hoped to have this in place before we opened but it took a bit longer than expected. I am delighted to confirm that we now have picnic boxes available for children with the usual kids favourites on the menu. These are easy to take away and enjoy in the park or on the terrace.
Based on your feedback and lots of request for later breakfasts at the weekend we launched a brunch menu last weekend. We will continue to develop this menu over the coming weekends and hope you will be able to stop by and try it. The steak frites and smashed broad bean dishes were particularly popular last weekend. Starting this Friday, we also plan to offer a fish & chips special on Fridays going forward.
Our terrace space has been much more popular than we anticipated with the majority of customers choosing to enjoy their drinks and food on the terrace as opposed to take away. With this in mind, we plan to move to a plated, table service on the terrace in the coming weeks. We are currently ordering crockery and cutlery and looking to fill a few additional spaces in the team to allow us to do this efficiently. We also hope to begin the process of designing our café space this month and hope to have it open and as soon as physically possible.
